LYNXCONNECT and Artemisan Foundation will be in the regions of La Vera with the hunting sector.

Artemisan technicians will explain to hunters, managers and landowners in Jarandilla de la Vera and Navalmoral de la Mata how to live with our most emblematic mammal.
Extremadura, 25 January 2023.- The LIFE LYNXCONNECT project continues its journey through all the areas with stable Iberian lynx populations and is also approaching those areas likely to receive individuals of this species, given that they travel many kilometres depending on the situation in which they find themselves throughout their existence.
And on this path, its partner, the Artemisan Foundation, is organising two talks designed exclusively for the hunting sector on the 30th and 31st, in Jarandilla de la Vera and Navalmoral de la Mata, respectively. The first location has been chosen precisely because of the Iberian lynx’s ability and, where necessary, its need to travel. As Jarandilla is close to the Valdecañas reintroduction area and the Ibor Valley stepping stone, LYNXCONNECT believes that hunters and hunting professionals in the area have the same right to information as those closest to the current centres.
In this way, next week the list of municipalities to which the LIFE LYNXCONNECT project is going will be extended in order to involve those people who work around hunting grounds or who own land. This is because 90 % of the Iberian lynx specimens live in this type of territory and because of the interest that hunters have always shown in conservation.
With regard to the meetings, the Artemisan Foundation plans them in such a way that there is feedback between the objectives of the project, with its partners and administrations at the forefront, and the coexistence between species and in the ecosystem that managers, owners and hunters encounter.
