February 10, 2026
The LIFE LYNXCONNECT project has organised its third information days in the new reintroduction area of Granada, in Sierra Arana.
A group of journalists and content creators travelled to the area to learn first-hand about the project’s activities in this area, where a total of 30 specimens have been released into the wild since December 2022.
We were accompanied by Jon Nazca, Matthieu de Taillac from Le Figaro, David Broncano, Eugenia Martínez de Irujo, Jacob Petrus (TVE) and Melerus, among others, who attended the release of two cubs by the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Catalina Garcia.
Vesta, a female from the Guarrizas population, from a litter of four siblings of the female P1-Janga, and Víznar, from the Doñana population, daughter of the female Sed and the male Quichua.
Beyond that, they had the opportunity to talk to numerous actors involved in this recovery process, from hunters, landowners and the local population to regional technical managers, who are proof of how social cooperation and the joint commitment of different sectors has been key to recovering the populations of what was ‘the most endangered feline in the world’ in this region.
