The Artemisan Foundation, as a partner of the LIFE LYNXCONNECT project, has started a series of talks on ‘The Iberian Lynx: everything you need to know’ in Castilla-La Mancha. The first talk took place in Horcajo de los Montes (Ciudad Real).
The first meeting was held on Monday, 20 January, at 19:30, in the Social Centre of Horcajo de los Montes (Ciudad Real), and was attended by around ten people. The talks, organised with the collaboration of the regional hunting federation and with the support of local hunting societies, aim to raise awareness and reinforce the involvement of hunters, managers, owners of hunting reserves and other rural agents in the conservation of the Iberian lynx.
During the meeting, the current situation of the Iberian lynx, the actions developed within the LIFE LYNXCONNECT Project and the implications of the presence of the species in hunting grounds were presented, highlighting its important role in predator control. For their part, the attendees shared their concerns and experiences in relation to the Iberian lynx.
