September 22, 2024
On Tuesday 18th September, on behalf of LIFE LYNXCONNECT, its coordinator, J. Salcedo, participated in the XIV Conference on Road Equipment, within the round table: Specific actions to improve safety in the event of animal collisions.
Efforts to prevent accidents and road accidents that cause damage to wildlife and the Iberian lynx in particular, is one of the priorities of LYNXCONNECT.
Thank you for helping us to prevent them.
AND REMEMBER:
WHAT TO DO IF YOU ENCOUNTER A LYNX ON THE ROAD:
Switch to dipped headlights, so as not to dazzle and disorientate the animal. Stop without sudden manoeuvres. Mark the spot correctly. Call 112 and follow their instructions. Do not try to capture it or harass it to get it off the road, as this could cause an accident. HAT TO DO IF I HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH A LYNX: Stop in a controlled manner Secure the scene of the accident. Wear a reflective waistcoat and place the warning triangle. Call 112 and follow their instructions. Do not handle the animal or move it from its place. In any case, report the accident, even if there is no apparent damage. So that if the animal is injured it can be located and attended to.
