A few years ago, the residents of the “EL ALMENDRAL” neighbourhood in Jaén got down to work to beautify their neighbourhood. They started by reforesting nearby green areas and the neighbourhood itself, then they continued by painting the stairs with colours, phrases and messages. Then they continued with murals and decided that they wanted to have an Iberian Lynx as a “neighbour”, so they got down to work.
These murals were paid for by the neighbours, through a “neighbourhood piggy bank”, they collected contributions from the neighbours, with which they obtained the funds for the materials, and the graffiti artists ICAT Graffiti (Monica and Dani), in love with the idea, contributed, doing the work for free.
And today, between them, they have a magnificent specimen of Iberian lynx in their neighbourhood.
Thank you and celebrate with them the “World Wildlife Day”.
