The exhibition “The Lynx on the Peninsula – Connecting Territories and Consolidating Populations”, organised by CIMBAL – Comunidade Intermunicipal do Baixo do Alentejo, within the scope of the LIFE LYNXCONNECT project, was inaugurated on the 9th of November at 16h in the Municipal Library of Alcoutim, with the support of the Alcoutim City Council.

The aim of the exhibition is to present the work carried out, in progress and planned for the future in the field of Iberian Lynx conservation. This initiative will take place in the 13 municipalities that make up CIMBAL, as well as in three municipalities in the Algarve (Alcoutim, Tavira and Silves) and in Lisbon.

The exhibition has been developed by CIMBAL, partner of the LIFE LYNXCONNECT project, with the technical and scientific support of ICNF – Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas, I.P.

It will be on display in the municipality of Alcoutim until 30 November 2023.

In association with the exhibition, two events were held to raise awareness and communicate the importance of the reintroduction of the Iberian lynx with stories and tales about the species, featuring the comedian Jorge Serafim.
