Fomento de Técnicas Extremeñas s.l. (Fotex), a service consulting company specialising in computer engineering, environment, socio-economic studies, population studies, and waste management, has 20 years of experience working in the natural environment and has been working with the Iberian lynx since 2005. It has also participated in the Life Project “Recovery of the historical distribution of the Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus) in Spain and Portugal (LIFE+10NAT/ES/000570), as technical assistance to the Directorate General for the Environment of the Regional Government of Extremadura, as part of the team for the Conservation of the lynx in Extremadura.

The main Fotex contribution to the project, apart from being a private entity in Extremadura, is its human team, which has a wide experience of more than 20 years and a great professional background in species conservation, and dealing with farmers, stockbreeders, hunters, farm managers, etc.

Our extensive experience covers a wide range of actions, from land management, flora and fauna conservation, technical studies, environmental impact studies, tracking and monitoring of wild species, the establishment of collaboration agreements with farms owners and managers, habitat improvement actions for species such as European Rabbit and Red Partridge, Montagu's Harrier, Lesser Kestrel, Great Bustard, Little Bustard, etc. We have also exeerience on environmental surveillance plans monitoring for renewable energy projects, assessement of compliance with corrective and compensatory measures, analysis of their effectiveness, etc.
