Within the framework of the LIFE LYNXCONNECT Project and stone by stone, from the hands of the inhabitants of the village of Pereiro (Alcoutim) comes the first of one of the artistic interventions that aims to raise awareness in the community about the return of the Iberian lynx to its territory, in collaboration with the artist Tó Quintas.

Made from a moulded iron structure, the installation was entirely covered with schist stones collected in situ.

The work, by the artist Tó Quintas, was born from a collective process developed several months ago with the population of the village, with the collaboration of the Union of Parishes of Alcoutim and Pereiro. On the occasion of the placement of the piece on the site (Barragem do Pereiro), the people were invited to participate in the completion of the work, using traditional knowledge related to the construction of walls and other stone works.
